6 Experiences in Biology: to the requirements of the instructor, the student, and/or the data. In a laboratory write-up, there must be an objective: a reason why you are doing the experiment. This can be in the form of a statement of objective, a question, or a problem statement. Whatever the form you use, it must be included in your writeup. Online laboratory experiences are incorporated, which are designed to correspond to, complement, and reinforce the concepts presented in the assigned reading material. The lab involves study through interactive simulations, videos, and animations, which will be provided to the student in the form of exercises provided throughout the semester.
This laboratory manual is designed for use in a one or two-semester introductory biology course at the college level and can be coordinated with any general biology textbook. Each exercise is a self-contained unit with clearly stated objectives, a variety of learning experiences, and thought-provoking review questions. 3-hole drilled/5(5). Laboratory course designed for non-science majors that examines the microscopic and gross structure and function of the human body. Includes microscope work, models, animal dissections, and various experiments designed to illustrate concepts related to basic human biology and to complement topics covered in BIO Lecture course.
